Life’s emergencies come in all shapes and sizes — you could lock your keys in the car, need directions, get a flat tire or need to contact someone while you’re on the road. So before you ask, ‘What can I do with OnStar?’, take a look at the list below. Here are seven ways OnStar and specially trained Advisors can make your drive better; one for every day of the week.

1) Key Master: Every day, OnStar reunites an average of 1,600 drivers with their keys just minutes after they’ve locked them in the car. When you have that face-palm moment, just call 1.888.4ONSTAR and an Advisor can remotely unlock your doors1 (after confirming your account and security information, of course). Or if your phone is handy, you can hit “unlock” with the vehicle mobile app.2

2) Trusty Guide: Life goes in a lot of directions. OnStar Turn-by-Turn Navigation3 can help you get where you’re going, effortlessly. Push the blue button to have an Advisor send directions. You can even find valuable offers along the way with Marketplace.4 Need coffee? Snacks? A nearby 5-star restaurant? Just check for offers on the vehicle mobile app.

3) Trouble Eraser: Find yourself stranded with a flat tire or an empty gas tank? Fear not. With OnStar you're always connected. Push that blue button and Roadside Assistance5 can help you get back on your way.

4) Dialed In: If you make a lot of calls from your car, OnStar Hands-Free Calling6 lets you keep your hands safely on the wheel and your eyes on the road. Just push the Hands-Free Calling button and say the phone number or the stored nametag you want to call.

5) Ride Recovery: If your car’s ever stolen, OnStar has a handful of services to help the police recover it. Stolen Vehicle Assistance7 can use GPS to help locate your vehicle for authorities. Remote Ignition Block™7 can remotely block your ignition, preventing the thief from restarting it once it's off. With Stolen Vehicle Slowdown,®7 an Advisor can work with the police to send a signal to your vehicle to safely slow it down. Plus, you can get a heads-up call, email or text when your car’s alarm is triggered with the new Theft Alarm Notification.8

6) Vehicle Physician: Advanced Diagnostics9 helps make sure your vehicle has a clean bill of health. Sign up for real-time alerts or a monthly email report — all in simple, color-coded icons — to see if any key systems need your attention. It monitors the engine, transmission, emissions, air bag system, antilock brakes and more. It’s included in your OnStar service. Enroll here or push the blue button and ask an Advisor.

7) Mobile Office: Work can happen anywhere when you have OnStar 4G LTE and an available in-vehicle Wi-Fi® hotspot.10 That might not sound appealing at first, but when you can fire up the laptop and send an email or report from a screen larger than your palm, it feels like a lot less work. And since the hotspot supports up to seven devices at once, your passengers can stay productive too.

To make OnStar part of your everyday life, find the best plan for your routine.
